Kilimanjaro Regional Chief Hon. Nurdin Babu has said that the investment in the industrial area made by the Social Security Fund for Public Employees (PSSSF) in the region has brought great comfort to the people. The factory is owned by a joint venture between PSSSF and the Tangazwizi Farmers' Cooperative of Mamba Miamba Ginger Growers where PSSSF owns 67% of the shares and the cooperative members own 33%. PSSSF has also invested in Kilimanjaro International Leather Products factory "You have given us great honor and you have given us great development in our region of Kilimanjaro" said Hon. Grandfather The Regional Commissioner encouraged the ginger farmers to take care of the infrastructure of the factory so that together it will bring benefits to the people. On his part, the Vice Chairman of the PSSSF Board of Trustees, Dr. Aggrey Mulimuka said, the Board is satisfied with the investment made by the Fund on various projects including the Mamba Miamba factory. "Our duty is to ensure that this project and other investments made by the Fund are beneficial to the members and without any doubt we believe that this project will pay off." He said. And the General Director of PSSSF, CPA Hosea Kashimba said that the investment made by the Fund is done in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Bank as well as the Investment Policy of the Fund. "The main goal is to have financial sustainability to protect the value of members' money and the other goal is to get investment returns to grow the fund and speak the ability to pay dividends when needed and also to stimulate social and economic development in the country." Speaking about the renovation of the factory, CPA Kashimba said the factory was built in 2012 with the aim of processing 9.8 tons of ginger per day which was not possible and the factory produced less than one ton per day Contrary to expectations, the main reason is the limited mechanical capacity. Due to that reason, they are organized through the Member of Parliament of the State of Same, Hon. Anne Kilango Malecela requested a partnership with PSSSF and after an analysis, the Fund agreed to enter into a partnership and begin the renovation of buildings and the installation of new machines modernity that destroyed almost 2 billion shillings.

"The factory has the capacity to produce 10 tons per day and has modern laboratories that meet international standards for testing the quality of ginger produced in the factory." Anne Kilango Malecela who gave the idea of ​​establishing a ginger processing plant in the area thanked PSSSF for agreeing to invest in the plant as farmers will benefit from that investment. "What I'm asking for is that the factory we already have has modern machinery, we need to have reliable electricity, and I'm asking the Governor of Kiwanda to shut down its transformer so that it can be self-sufficient and thus reduce the risk of reliable access to electricity." Edward Mpogolo said that before the investment, there were doubts about the sure market for Tangawizi, but those doubts have now disappeared through the PSSSF investment because the sure market for Ginger is there. "Our PSSSF brothers have helped us to improve the ginger crop by bringing us a factory and we have great confidence that Same and especially us ginger growers will help us create a market and improve the price of ginger in our areas and Tanzania in general." Mpogolo And the first farmer of the Ginger crop in the village of Goha where the factory is located, Mr. Chikira Mfanga Gate he said the factory has brought great comfort to farmers including himself. "I brought ginger seeds to this area in 1988 and I was able to sell them in various parts of the country including Arusha, Moshi and Dar es Salaam and the ginger here is excellent and very popular." He said.
