LIONEL MESSI |
The country of Argentina is considering putting the image of striker Lionel Messi on the country's banknotes after the 7-time Ballon d'or winner led Argentina to win the World Cup this year (2022). According to the newspaper El Financiero, officials of the financial management board in the country are looking for ways to honor the historic victory of the World Cup of that country in Qatar. Placing a picture of Messi with the World Cup on the country's banknotes is said to be the best option as the number starts with '10' which is the jersey number worn by the goat (GOAT). The back of the note is suggested to be 'La Scaloneta' which is the nickname of Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni. This will aim to honor the success of the coach who led the national team to win the Copa America 2021, the Finalissima against the Euros champions Italy and the victory of the World Cup 2022 against France in Qatar The Central Bank of Argentina introduced commercial coins to commemorate the first World Cup victory in 1978.
