Secretary General Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports Dr. Hassan Abbasi today December 13, 2022 has inspected and handed over the modern equipment to be used by the Office of the Development Fund for Culture and Arts. Dr. Abbasi has handed over the equipment to the Coordinator of the Fund Mfaume Said as it is the efforts of the Ministry under Minister Mohamed Mchengerwa, to enable the Fund to start performing its duties more efficiently in those sectors. The fund has been allocated an amount of 3.9 billion shillings for the Financial Year 2021 to 2023 and when the equipment arrives it will cost TZS 90 million. In another step, Dr. Abbasi has chaired the meeting of the Board of the Arts Council in the country (Basata), where among the documents discussed are the Ethics Guide for Artists and the Guide for the Preparation of the Music Awards (TMA) for the year 2022 but will be released in April, 2023. He has used the opportunity to order several new executives who were transferred to Basata from various public institutions as part of improvements and the old ones to develop unity and creativity as the art sector is one of the strategic sectors for the Government of the Sixth Phase under President Dr. Samia Solution Hassan.
