The traditional home match between Simba Queens and Yanga Princess has lost its leader after the teams raced each other within 90 minutes resulting in a 1-1 draw, the Women's Premier League game played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. The changes made by the coach of Simba Queens, Charles Lukula in the second half of removing Pambani Kuzoya and Koku Ally and bringing in Vivian Corazone and Asha Jafari helped the team to avoid defeat from their traditional hometown, Yanga Princess. Yanga was the first to get a goal in the 45th minute through Wogu Chioma who scored a goal with a header finishing Wincate Kaali's corner and later Simba equalized in the 59th minute through Vivian who shot just outside the 18th and filled the net. This is the ninth match the teams have met with Simba winning six times, two draws and Yanga winning only once.
