The President of Ukraine makes his first visit to the United States and is promised the support of President Joe Biden.

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday welcomed his Ukrainian counterpart Volodomyr Zelenskyy to the White House, his first visit outside of Ukraine since the start of Russia's invasion of his country in February this year. Biden said that the people of Ukraine have continued to move the world due to perseverance, as well as bravery to protect their nation. He added that the American people are standing proudly with the people of Ukraine. He also said that the democrats and republicans are with their partners in Europe and Japan as well as other places, to ensure that Ukraine gets the financial, security and humanitarian aid it needs. It has been 300 days since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched brutal attacks against Ukraine, a move aimed at depriving Ukraine of its right to exist as a nation. Zelenskyy, for his part, thanked Biden for his support to Ukraine and its people, and expressed his sincere gratitude from the heart and from all Ukrainians. "Thanks, from our ordinary people to your ordinary people, Americans," he said. . Zelenskyy also gave Biden a military cross medal that belonged to a Ukrainian soldier, captain of the HIMARS batteries, which was awarded by the United States. His visit comes as US lawmakers are debating an additional $45 billion in emergency aid to Ukraine, which will bring total US wartime aid to more than $100 billion.
